When hearing the word ‘architecture,’ I imagine blueprints with their precise forms and fine lines. Somehow these images correlate with music: the blueprints of harpsichord construction, the strict lines of counterpoint, the architecture of a fugue. These lines and forms live and develop over time and influence music from the Renaissance to the present day.
